Father-son duo Jayaram and Kalidas reunite on screen after 22 years in the upcoming Malayalam film ‘Ashakal Aayiram’. ‘Ashakal Aayiram’ is directed by G. Prajith, who previously helmed Nivin Pauly’s film ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’ and Biju Menon-starrer ‘Sathyam Paranja Viswasikkuvo’. Starring Jayaram and Kalidas, the film also has Asha Sharath, Ishani Krishna, and Sharafudheen in key roles. This film marks Jayaram and his son Kalidas’ reunion 22 years after the release of their celebrated Malayalam film ‘Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum’. Though the father-son duo later collaborated on the Tamil film ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’, Keralites were eagerly waiting to see them share the screen in a Malayalam film.Actors Anand Manmadhan, Akhil NRD, Ramesh Pisharody, Dileep Menon, Zhins Shan, Rajesh Azhikode, Vaishakh Vijayan, Abhinand Accode, Mukundan, Anand Padmanabhan, Renjith Balachandran, Sudheer Paravur, Niharika, Bhagya, Kunchan, Shaiju Sreedhar, Raffi, Suresh Kumar, and Surya Balasubramanian are also part of the cast.On the technical front, ‘Ashakal Aayiram’ is jointly scripted by Aravind Rajendran and Jude Anthany Joseph. Swaroop Philip is the director of photography. Shafeeque VB is responsible for the editing. Sanal Dev has composed the music for the film. ‘Ashakal Aayiram’ is slated for release on February 6.
