Ranveer is facing backlash for an inappropriate joke on India’s Got Latent. Despite apologizing, people online are still upset. Now, a Reddit user has found an old video where Ranveer was seen trying to convince Varun Dhawan to join the show.
Varun appeared on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast in January 2025, where they discussed various topics, including the idea of him joining Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. In response to the suggestion, the actor shared his thoughts on the matter.He said, “I would go for it. I could get cancelled but I feel maybe his show would get affected negatively. Because the more eyeballs you get in that way sometimes when you are doing that humour. He is not scared of all that. I would do it in a skip of a heartbeat, but for the teams I am leading, I’ll have to do it when I am not promoting a film. So that there is nobody else caught in the crossfire, because there will be a crossfire for sure.”
After the video surfaced online, netizens pointed out that Ranveer mentioned how Samay Raina’s style of humor could eventually make its way into Indian cinema.
