Sabesh, the younger brother of popular music composer Deva and a talented keyboardist, passed away on October 23rd due to ill health. Sabesh’s demise was a great loss to the Tamil film industry. Many people attended his memorial service yesterday (November 9) and paid tribute to him. At the event, Deva became emotional while speaking about his younger brother Sabesh.
Deva recalls his brother’s calm and quiet nature
Speaking at the event, Deva said, “My brother Sabesh has been very quiet since his childhood. He always keeps to himself. He never talks about any difficulties. I don’t think I spoke to him for even an hour from the time he was born until he died. He left without saying anything even at the last moment,” Deva said, his eyes filled with tears.
Sabesh paved the way for their family’s entry into cinema
Deva then added, “Sabesh was the first in our family to start playing the keyboard. He was the one who got us all into cinema. When we went abroad, he was the first one. He was the first to do everything in our family. And now, he has gone before us. For 15 years, my brothers and I would go to the studio every day at 7 am and return home at 11 pm. When I think back to those days, I can’t forget him,” he said.
Deva expresses heartfelt gratitude to his brothers
“Without my brothers, I wouldn’t be me. I got the title of music composer because of my brothers, Sabesh and Murali. They were the ones who introduced us to the world of cinema.” It is a great pain in my heart to know that I have lost one of them today. But the music and memories he created will always be with us,” Deva said, speechless. Deva’s emotional speech in memory of Sabesh moved everyone present at the event.
