Bhuvan Bam opens up about lip surgery and life after a wake-up call; Says, ‘I was lazy, but not anymore’

Bhuvan Bam recently took fans by surprise when he debuted a fresh, fitter look on social media. When asked what brought on this transformation, the content creator and actor candidly shared that turning 30 made him reassess his lifestyle.
“I used to be lazy, honestly,” Bhuvan admitted. “But after hitting 30, I felt it was high time I focused on my health. For the past one-and-a-half years, I’ve been working out regularly and I’ve completely cut out sugar from my diet. It’s started showing on my face now.”
Despite having always been lean, Bhuvan revealed that the lockdown period led to unexpected weight gain, especially from working at home. “I had to do a look test where I was clean-shaven, and that’s when I noticed how much fat had accumulated on my face. It was a real eye-opener. That moment made me decide to change my lifestyle. Since then, I’ve stuck to a fitness routine, and the laziness has completely disappeared.”
Before unveiling his new avatar, Bhuvan also dealt with a health setback. He underwent surgery to remove a mucocele — a painful oral boil — that had started affecting his work.
“I had this nasty boil inside my mouth that eventually turned into a mucocele. It got so big that the left side of my lower lip became swollen and it started showing on camera,” he explained. “Since I was shooting at the time, I had to take a break and get it surgically removed. It wasn’t going away on its own and kept growing.”
While the surgery was successful, recovery is still ongoing. “There’s still some numbness in the area at times,” Bhuvan said, “but I’ve gone back to eating normally, and thankfully, it’s no longer visible on camera.”
From prioritizing wellness to tackling a medical hurdle, Bhuvan’s transformation is a reflection of his resilience and evolving mindset — both on and off screen.
