SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali‘ is back in the news after the makers announced that a combined version of the two ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ and the ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, which is named ‘Baahubali: The Epic’. Recently, netizens have been back with their discussions on the long-standing rumor that Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan was considered for the iconic role ultimately played by Prabhas.
Producer shuts down Hrithik Roshan rumors
Producer Shobu Yarlagadda recently addressed the speculation, shutting down rumors in a recent interview with Gulte. He shared that they had decided to cast Prabhas from the beginning. He said, “I see online chatter that we asked Hrithik and stuff like that for Baahubali’s role. That never happened. Because from day one, it was Prabhas.”
Prabhas’ dual roles and star cast
Prabhas played dual roles in the franchise as Amarendra Baahubali, the noble and valiant king, and his son, Mahendra Baahubali, also known as Sivudu, who rises to reclaim his father’s kingdom. Alongside Prabhas, the film also features powerhouse performances by Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Nassar, and Sathyaraj, all reprising their memorable roles in the epic saga.
Remastered edition and runtime details
‘Baahubali: The Epic’ will be the remastered edition of the two films, which will be played in a single seating. During the conversation, Shobu Yarlagadda also revealed that the screentime of the film will be around 3 hours and 40 minutes. He also explained that the first half will cover the first instalment and the second half continues with the second part of the franchise, making the iconic ‘Kattappa killing Baahubali’ scene as the interval.The movie is set to hit theatres on 31 October this year.It will be released across premium large formats, including IMAX, Dolby Vision and more.
