The Kapoor family is mourning the loss of their beloved matriarch, Nirmal Kapoor, who passed away on 2 May 2025 in Mumbai at the age of 90. She had been unwell for some time and took her last breath at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital around 5:25 PM due to age-related health issues.
On the morning of May 3, close family members gathered to pay their last respects. Anil Kapoor and Boney Kapoor were seen arriving quietly and with heavy hearts. The family’s home in Mumbai became a place of mourning as many relatives and friends came to offer their condolences.
Grandchildren arrive to show their love
Among those who came to say goodbye were Nirmal’s grandchildren: Arjun Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, and Rhea Kapoor. Rhea was joined by her husband, Karan Boolani. Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor were also present. The family looked emotional as they stood together during this difficult time.
Kapoor bahus and Bollywood friends join the farewell
Maheep Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor, the Kapoor bahus (daughters-in-law), were also there to support the family. The gathering showed how close the family is, especially in tough times. Some well-known Bollywood friends came to pay their respects too. Actor Anupam Kher and Shyam Kaushal were spotted at the Kapoor residence, showing their support and love for the family.
The funeral is to be held at Pawan Hans Crematorium on May 3 at 11:30 am. Family, friends, and members of the film industry are expected to come to pay their last respects and honour Nirmal Kapoor’s life. It was a moment of sadness but also a chance to remember the wonderful person she was.
