“Another Simple Favor” set to premiere: Check release date, cast, and streaming details here
Fans of Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick can look forward to their return in the highly anticipated sequel to A Simple Favor. Titled Another Simple Favor, the film will continue the thrilling story that first captivated audiences in 2018. Prime Video recently released a first-look image, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect. According to a report by Digital Spy, the film promises more mystery, deception, and unexpected twists.
The sequel takes place in a lavish Italian setting, specifically on the beautiful island of Capri. Blake Lively reprises her role as Emily Nelson, while Anna Kendrick returns as Stephanie Smothers. Their paths cross once again under suspicious circumstances, with Emily preparing to marry a wealthy Italian businessman.
However, beneath the glamorous wedding celebrations, a dark web of secrets, lies, and murder begins to unravel. Just like the first film, fans can expect unexpected twists and an intriguing mystery that will keep them guessing.
The film will have its world premiere as the opening night movie at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, on March 7, 2025. Following its debut, the movie will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video starting May 1, 2025.
Director Paul Feig shared his excitement on social media, writing:
“I have a simple favor to ask you… can you save the date? #AnotherSimpleFavor from @AmazonMGMStudio is premiering as the opening night film at @SXSW in Austin on March 7th. And then we hit @PrimeVideo on May 1st. Stay tuned for more details and much more fun!”

Director Paul Feig shared that he usually avoids making sequels but felt that the story and characters of A Simple Favor were too exciting not to revisit.
“I’ve avoided making sequels to any of my films, but these characters were just too much fun not to revisit,” Feig explained.
With a star-studded cast, a luxurious setting, and a thrilling new mystery, Another Simple Favor is set to be an exciting watch for fans.
