In a conversation with News18, Aamir stated that box office numbers provide a definitive yardstick for a film’s performance, whereas he believes that reviews are subjective. “Every film receives mixed reviews, as some people enjoy it while others may have negative opinions. But the box office is unemotional,” he explained. He described it as a “fairly accurate measure” to assess a movie’s success. “Unless there’s a specific reason a film didn’t do well, box office performance reflects how much a film is loved,” he added.‘Laapataa Ladies’ OTT releaseAamir used his recent production ‘Laapataa Ladies’ as an example and expressed that the film might have enjoyed a stronger theatrical run had it not premiered on streaming platforms so soon. “For example, I believe Laapataa Ladies would have done really well in theatres if it hadn’t premiered on Netflix just eight weeks later. The word of mouth was so strong. According to me, if it hadn’t gone to Netflix so soon, it would have been a huge success,” he stated.Aamir’s ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’On the work front, Aamir is gearing up for the release of ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, directed by R.S. Prasanna. The sports comedy-drama is backed by Aamir Khan and is touted as a spiritual successor to his acclaimed 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. The film also features Genelia Deshmukh in a key role.
