CM Punk had only one dream ever since he came to WWE in 2006 and now after almost two decades, it will finally come true.
CM Punk is one of the influential WWE superstars of all time. Despite his accomplished career and popularity, there was one major omission from his illustrious WWE resume. For years, Punk came close to his goal but did not reach it for one reason or another. However, at WrestleMania, his two-decade-long wait will finally come to an end following a blockbuster announcement on WWE SmackDown.
CM Punk will finally claim his destiny at WrestleMania 41
The March 28th, 2025 edition of WWE SmackDown emanated from the O2 Arena in London, England. Following an explosive night of matches and moments, the last segment of the show was the contract signing between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk, officiated by SmackDown GM Nick Aldis. Reigns and Paul Heyman came out first, followed by Rollins, and they exchanged some heated words.
Right after, The Best in the World came out to join them and took a seat. As he began to read the contract, he had some clarifications to be done and asked Paul Heyman for them. Heyman came close to him to announce that the time had come for CM Punk to realise his lifelong dream in WWE. Heyman, with a tearful joy, revealed that CM Punk will main event his first WrestleMania this year in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Wiseman said, “Your dream of all dreams, CM Punk, you are a WrestleMania main eventer.”
The announcement garnered a loud pop for CM Punk. Meanwhile, Reigns laughed at Punk and Heyman sharing a moment, but Seth Rollins was furious upon learning that. Moreover, CM Punk himself ended the show on a huge note saying that this was not the favor Paul Heyman owed him.
CM Punk came close to main eventing WrestleMania on multiple occasions in his WWE career. However, this year, Punk’s time has finally arrived, and he will step in the ring against the two top stars of the business, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. So it will be interesting to see if Punk can emerge victorious in his very first WrestleMania main event.
