‘Will continue to expose traitors’: Abhishek Banerjee to join BJP? TMC leader clarifies | India News
NEW DELHI: Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee on Thursday denied reports of him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that he remains committed to his party.
“I am a loyal soldier of TMC,” Banerjee said, rejecting claims of differences with party chief Mamata Banerjee. “My leader is Mamata Banerjee,” he added.
‘I will continue to expose traitors’
Speaking at a TMC party conference in Kolkata, Banerjee said he would continue to expose “traitors” within the party. “I will continue to expose traitors in TMC, just like I did during the last assembly polls,” he said.
He also accused those spreading rumors of his defection of misleading people. “Those who are saying that I am joining the BJP are spreading canards,” Banerjee said.
