RUDRAPUR: A man, identified as Mohd Salman, who runs a general store, was picked by police for allegedly making derogatory remarks against the local BJP MLA while referring to the razing of a mazaar along the national highway in Rudrapur.
Police said Salman’s “post” on social media against MLA Shiv Arora over the demolition of a mazaar a few days ago had caused anger among various organisations, raising fears of “communal unrest”. Legal proceedings against him are underway, police added.
US Nagar SSP Manikant Mishra said that “local residents should refrain from sharing objectionable, inflammatory, or communally-sensitive content on social media.”
