MANGALURU: The mortal remains of Akanksha, 22, a woman from Dharmasthala in Belthangady who was reportedly found dead on the campus of a private university in Punjab on Saturday, is expected to reach home late evening on Tuesday or Wednesday morning.Family sources said that the post-mortem has been delayed. There was confusion over the filing of an FIR. The family is keen that an FIR is registered and a fair probe is conducted into what prompted Akanksha to opt for the extreme step. The family is likely to shift the body to Delhi by ambulance on Tuesday and from there fly to Bengaluru. Sources said that language is certainly an issue, and the family is keen that the police probe the issue and book those responsible for Akanksha’s death.The victim is the daughter of Surendra, a contractor, and Sindhudevi, from Boliyar in Dharmasthala. Akanksha completed her aerospace engineering course about six months ago and secured a job in a private firm in Delhi recently. It is learnt that on May 16, she travelled from Delhi to Punjab to collect her graduation certificate. However, due to delays in getting the certificate, she informed her family that she would need to stay for an extra day. It is alleged that she committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the college building.
