Dodgers’ hitting coach Aaron Bates weighs in on Yankees’ controversial torpedo bats
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ hitting coach, Aaron Bates claims he had never heard of torpedo bats before the Yankees’ performance this baseball season. He said:
“I saw them like everybody else did — on social media and TV.”
Further, Aaron Bates feels it’s good for the game to look for ways for hitters to get an advantage because pitchers are farther ahead. Bates said:
“Guys are always trying to get better, find new ways to improve or get an edge in that sense, Obviously Major League Baseball said it’s all within the rules and everything. That’s great. I think it’s good for the game in the sense of trying to create another way for hitters to get an advantage because pitchers are so much further ahead as far as data and how hard they throw. So, you increase that margin of error, it’s good.”
The concept of a torpedo bat seems to be very interesting, with weight being put at the spot where a player more often makes contact.
Dodgers’ Mookie Betts feels confidence in batting is what matters
Interestingly, as per The Orange County Register, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ stars Max Muncy, Kike Hernandez and other members of the have also ordered their own versions of the special bats.
Regarding this new trend that has come up in the baseball world. Dodgers’ Mookie Betts has also decided to speak out. Betts said:
“We’ll see, Essentially, I’m not saying the bat doesn’t matter, But it’s really the operator. If that’s what puts confidence in your head that you’re going to hit it, then you’re going to play better just based on pure confidence. It may have something to do with the bat. It may not.”
