The deadly ‘dead mother’ plot: How Muskan lured her lover to kill ex-merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput | Meerut News

NEW DELHI: When ex-merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput flew back to Meerut from London on February 24, he planned to surprise his wife on her birthday the next day. Instead, he walked into a fatal conspiracy. By the time anyone realised he was missing, he had already been murdered, dismembered, and beheaded, with his remains left to decay in cement inside a blue plastic drum for nearly two weeks. The crime, committed on the night of March 4, was only uncovered on Tuesday.
SP (City) Ayush Vikram Singh detailed a scheme that had been months in the making. “Muskan had been plotting the murder since November. She manipulated Sahil (her lover) through fake Snapchat messages, making him believe they were signs from his deceased mother. Days before Saurabh’s return, she bought two knives, claiming they were for cutting chicken, and faked anxiety to acquire sedatives, which she later used to drug her husband before the attack.”
“Sahil’s mother had passed away years ago, and Muskan exploited his grief. She convinced him that his mother had reincarnated and was communicating with him, using this belief to control him and drive him to kill Saurabh,” he added.
“She also told Sahil that Saurabh was not in the merchant navy but working in a bakery in London. These claims are being verified.” Muskan and Sahil have been charged with murder and destruction of evidence.
‘She should be hanged’: Muskan Rastogi’s parents
Muskan Rastogi’s parents, whose daughter has been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband, have demanded the harshest punishment for her. “That kid (Saurabh Rajput) was a good man. We demand justice and want her to be hanged till death,” her mother told ANI.
Her father also disowned her, echoing the same demand. “My daughter killed her husband. She is unfit for society and a danger to everyone,” he said, adding, “I would advise others not to take such steps. She should be hanged till death.”
