Maha Kumbh rush: Railway announces special trains between Shivamogga and Banaras. Check full details

HUBBALLI: The Railway Board has decided to run special express trains between Shivamogga Town and Banaras for one trip in each direction to manage the extra rush of passengers during the ongoing Kumbh Mela.
Train No. 06223 Shivamogga Town – Banaras Express Special will depart from Shivamogga Town at 4.40 pm on February 22, and will reach Banaras at 3:00 p.m. on February 24.
In the return direction, Train No. 06224 Banaras – Shivamogga Town Express Special will depart from Banaras at 1:30 a.m. on February 25, and will arrive at Shivamogga Town at 6.45 am on February 27.
En route, the train will have stoppages at Bhadravati, Birur, Chikjajur, Chitradurga, Rayadurg, Ballari Cantt, Hosapete, Koppal, Gadag, Hole Alur, Badami, Bagalkot, Almatti, Basavana Bagewadi Road, Vijayapura, Indi Road, Solapur, Daund, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Pipariya, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, and Mirzapur stations in both directions.
The special trains will consist of eleven 2AC Three-Tier Coaches, four Sleeper Class Coaches, two General Second-Class Coaches, and two Luggage/Generator/Brake Vans.

Special Vande Bharat train to operate between New Delhi and Varanasi for Mahakumbh pilgrims
The Railways will operate a special Vande Bharat train between New Delhi and Varanasi via Prayagraj on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays to accommodate the high demand of pilgrims heading to the Mahakumbh.
The trains will depart from New Delhi station at 5:30 am and return at 11:50 pm. Officials stated that this initiative is aimed at managing the weekend rush to the Mahakumbh.
“For the convenience of devotees intending to visit the Mahakumbh Mela, railways will run Vande Bharat special train (02252/02251) on Feb 15, 16 and 17 between New Delhi and Varanasi (via Prayagraj).The Vande Bharat special train no. 02252 will depart from New Delhi at 5.30 hrs (via Prayagraj at 12.00 hrs) to reach Varanasi at 14.20 hrs. In return direction Vande Bharat special train no. 02251 will depart from Varanasi at 15.15 hrs (Prayagraj at 17.20 hrs) to reach New Delhi at 23.50 hrs the same day,” said Northern Railway spokesperson Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay.
