Return stolen arms in 7 days, warns governor | India News
Manipur governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla appealed Thursday to mobs that looted armouries at different points of the ethnic conflict to play their part in restoring peace by returning stolen weapons and ammunition to the nearest police station or outpost within the next seven days.
“Your single act of returning these weapons can be a powerful gesture…I want to assure you that no punitive action would be initiated if such weapons are returned within the stipulated time,” he said, adding that illegal possession of arms thereafter would invite a crackdown.
