NEW DELHI: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of failing to provide employment opportunities and claimed that this was the root cause of mass migration from Bihar. Campaigning for RJD leader and actor-singer Khesari Lal Yadav in Chapra, he said that “employment has never been the BJP’s agenda”.

As per news agency ANI, Akhilesh told reporters, “Employment has never been the BJP’s agenda. This is the reason there is migration. Why is a government job in every house not possible? When I created Expressway for Rs 14,000 crores, BJP said that it cannot be done. When I built it and sanctioned it further, then it is the same Expressway where the PM had landed. Has the BJP created any such Highway?”He asserted that when RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav becomes the Chief Minister of Bihar, the issue of migration will be resolved. “The BJP is responsible for inflation and unemployment. If Tejashwi Yadav becomes the CM, poor women will get Rs 2,500 per month,” he said.Yadav also targeted the state’s law and order situation, referring to the murder in Mokama despite heavy security. “A place where the Prime Minister and the home minister are campaigning, where such VIPs with Z+ security are present — if a murder takes place at such a place, then it shows whether this is ‘jungle raj’ or ‘mangal raj’,” he said, as per ANI.He added that the people of Bihar were ready to vote for “change and prosperity” and to elect Tejashwi Yadav as the next Chief Minister, promising “affordable electricity and 200 units of free power”.Akhilesh Yadav had earlier said the results of the Bihar elections would “rattle the foundation” of the BJP-led government at the Centre. He claimed on Saturday that “the people of Bihar will defeat the BJP in Magadh, just like Uttar Pradesh voters did in Awadh”.The SP chief also accused the BJP of causing inflation through high GST rates and said, “The NDA parties should know that the people of Bihar will ensure the migration of the BJP from the state this time.”Voting for the Bihar Assembly will take place in two phases on November 6 and 11, with counting scheduled for November 14.
