Renuka, Wareham trigger collapse as RCB bowl out Delhi Capitals for 141 | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Veteran pacer Renuka Singh and Australian all-rounder Georgia Wareham orchestrated a stunning collapse as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) bowled out Delhi Capitals (DC) for 141 in their Women’s Premier League (WPL) clash in Vadodara on Monday.
Renuka led the charge with figures of 3/23, while Wareham matched her with 3/25, ensuring RCB wrestled control after Delhi had cruised to 55/1 in the powerplay.

The turning point came in the seventh over when RCB triggered a dramatic slide, claiming two wickets in just five deliveries.
Jemimah Rodrigues, who looked in fine touch with a fluent 34 off 22 balls (4×4, 2×6), fell attempting a reverse sweep, stumped by Richa Ghosh. In the very next over, skipper Meg Lanning miscued a short ball and found Ellyse Perry at square leg.
Renuka struck again in the 11th over, removing Annabel Sutherland (19) just as she was settling in after launching a six off Sneh Rana.
Earlier, RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana’s decision to bowl first paid immediate dividends as Renuka removed opener Shafali Verma for a golden duck in the opening over.
Despite an early reprieve via an umpire’s call on LBW, Jemimah’s dismissal proved to be the turning point. Lanning attempted to anchor the innings with a few classy strokes, but the relentless RCB attack, led by Renuka and Wareham, kept tightening the noose.
Delhi lost their last five wickets in just six overs, with Sarah Bryce (23 off 19) providing brief resistance before falling to Wareham in the 19th over, as the Capitals folded for 141 in 19.3 overs.
