India picked up a silver in the recurve team event after Dhiraj Bommadevara, Tarundeep Rai and Atanu Das lost 1-5 to China in the final of the season-opening Archery World Cup in Florida on Sunday.
India failed to maintain the momentum after the teams were tied 54-54 in the first set. The Chinese team of Li Zhongyuan, Kao Wenchao and Wang Yan put up a much better show, winning the second set 58-55. Only Dhiraj, who reached the USA at the last moment due to the late arrival of his visa, managed to hit two 10s in the set.

The third set was closer as India fell short by just one point, losing 54-55. The fifth-seeded Indian team earlier defeated Brazil, Indonesia and Spain by identical 6-2 scorelines to set up the summit clash with third-seeded China.
Late on Saturday, compound archer Rishabh Yadav, who did not have a World Cup medal so far, ended up picking two.
