Ragging horror: Class-X girls beat up junior in Andhra Pradesh school hostel

VISAKHAPATNAM: Three Class-X girl pupils of St Ann’s School assaulted a Class-VII girl student from the same institution within the school’s hostel premises in Paderu of Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) district.
Though the incident took place on January 5, it came to light on Sunday night (Feb 17) as the video of the incident went viral on social media.
As per the reports, three students abused and beat up a junior student in the hostel by blaming her and lodged a complaint against the seniors with hostel staff over an issue.
As the video went viral on social media, the management of the school and officials from the education department swung into action and they visited the hostel.
ASR district collector AS Dinesh Kumar asked the district education officer P Brahmaji Rao to conduct an enquiry into the incident and submit a report.
Based on the report, Dinesh Kumar removed the hostel warden Sravya from the duties. The three students were sent home.
