Patparganj, one of Delhi’s 70 assembly constituencies, plays a pivotal role in the political dynamics of the East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. Established with the 2008 delimitation process, it has since become a key battleground in the region’s political landscape.
For the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, prominent candidates in the race include Avadh Ojha from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Gopal Prasad representing the Delhi Janta Party, and Anil Kumar from the Indian National Congress.Other candidates include Gopal Prasad (Delhi Janta Party), Om Shankar Pandey (BSP), Deepa Devi (Aihra National Party), Prakash Chandra Joshi (Bhartiya Rashtriya Jansatta), and two independents – Diblu Singh and Jagdish Ojha.
In the Patparganj constituency, there are a total of 2,31,461 registered voters, with 1,42,246 valid votes cast in the previous election (2020). In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Manish Sisodia achieved a narrow win, defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ravinder Singh Negi by a margin of 3,207 votes. Sisodia garnered 70,163 votes, while Negi received 66,956 votes.
