NBA Offseason Rumors: Dallas Mavericks eye $195 million Phoenix Suns star to form Big 3 with Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving | NBA News

The Dallas Mavericks have made their intentions crystal clear: they’re all-in on winning an NBA championship within the next three to four years. This aggressive approach was evident when they traded 25-year-old phenom Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for 31-year-old All-Star Anthony Davis. Now, the Mavericks are reportedly eyeing another blockbuster move to solidify their title aspirations.
According to recent predictions, the Dallas Mavericks could surprisingly land Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant this offseason. Durant, a $195 million superstar, would form a formidable trio alongside Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis. The connection between Irving and Durant is well-documented, as the two previously teamed up on the Brooklyn Nets. While their time in Brooklyn didn’t yield the desired results, a reunion in Dallas could be a game-changer.
FanSided has named the Mavericks as a strong potential destination for Durant. Michael Saenz of FanSided wrote, “Looking across the league to find teams that would theoretically be interested in pursuing Kevin Durant during the offseason, you can’t help but wonder if the Dallas Mavericks could be one of the teams in the conversation.”

To acquire Kevin Durant, the Mavericks would likely need to part with a package centered around Klay Thompson, P.J. Washington, and draft capital. If the Suns opt for a rebuild, young center Dereck Lively II could also be included in the deal. However, the financial logistics of such a trade remain a significant hurdle.
“In theory, a trio of Kyrie Irving, KD, and Anthony Davis would make a ton of sense for Dallas. It’d be a great basketball fit if the Mavs could figure out how to make it work. But that’s where the problem lies – trying to make the money work all around while also putting together a package that the Phoenix Suns would seriously consider accepting,” Saenz added.
If the Dallas Mavericks can pull off this ambitious move, a Big Three of Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, and Kyrie Irving would instantly elevate them to the top of the Western Conference. With their championship window wide open, Dallas is clearly willing to take bold risks to achieve their ultimate goal.
