Narkatiaganj Election Results 2025 Highlights: RJD’s Deepak Yadav, BJP’s Sanjay Kumar Pandey and Jan Suraaj’s Md Wasiullah in a high-stakes contest for dominance

NEW DELHI: Narkatiaganj, one of Bihar’s 243 Assembly constituencies, is located in the West Champaran district and has long witnessed direct contests between the BJP and the Congress.This time, the race has become more complex. The RJD, a key constituent of the Mahagathbandhan, has fielded Deepak Yadav, who faces the BJP’s Sanjay Kumar Pandey in the main contest. However, Congress — also part of the Mahagathbandhan — has put up its own candidate, Shashwat Kedar, leading to a friendly clash within the alliance. Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj has nominated Md Wasiullah from the seat, adding another layer to the multi-cornered battle.

In the 2020 Assembly polls, BJP’s Rashmi Varma won the seat with 75,484 votes (45.85%), defeating Congress candidate Vinay Varma, who secured 54,350 votes (33.02%), by a margin of 21,134 votes. In contrast, in 2015, Congress’s Vinay Varma had triumphed with 57,212 votes (37.25%), beating BJP’s Renu Devi, who received 41,151 votes (26.80%), by 16,061 votes.Over the years, Narkatiaganj has swung between the BJP and the Congress, reflecting its reputation as one of Bihar’s most competitive constituencies.
