MP Ammonia Gas Leak: Factory Incident Causes Panic, Workers Evacuated | Indore News

NEW DELHI: An ammonia gas leak at a factory in Madhya Pradesh‘s Ratlam district caused panic and affected several people, prompting authorities to evacuate workers from the unit, officials said on Wednesday.
Officials responded swiftly to the situation on Tuesday at 10.30 pm, with emergency services and administrative authorities arriving at the location to contain the leakage.
SDM Trilochan Gaud confirmed the ammonia gas leak at the factory. Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar stated that authorities immediately sprayed water to control the leak. Some individuals received medical attention following exposure to the gas.
Police personnel from the adjacent police line first detected the leak during their night patrol and initiated the response. SDM Gaud noted that while the leak was detected early, it was not a major incident.
The authorities evacuated factory workers immediately as a precautionary measure. The fire brigade successfully contained the situation by spraying water, and officials confirmed that the situation remains stable and under control.
