Bicholim: After a two-and-a-half-year-old girl died under suspicious circumstances at Maulinguem, Bicholim, on Wednesday night, police on Thursday detained the girl’s mother, Nagamma Ravi V, 28, and her live-in partner, Nithin Kumara Ramesh Pujar, a native of Karnataka.The minor girl fell unconscious after she was allegedly beaten by Pujar. Neighbours and the mother took the girl to the Bicholim community health centre, where she was declared dead, police said. The autopsy report stated the girl died of suffocation.Nagamma, her daughter and Pujar had been living at Maulinguem since a week.
