Major Container Truck Accident Disrupts Eastern Express Highway Traffic near Jupiter Hospital | Thane News
THANE: The driver of a container truck suffered injuries after the vehicle met with a mishap near Jupiter Hospital on the Mumbai to Nashik lane of the Eastern Express Highway, Sunday morning. The mishap led to a disruption of traffic moving towards Ghodbunder and Nashik, which was normalised after 2 hours.The mishap was reported around 7 am near the Majiwada-end of Cadbury flyover when the container-laden truck hit the divider after its driver, Kamta Pal (m/50), lost control of the vehicle. The truck was travelling from Kalamboli to Gujarat.A team of Rabodi police and Thane traffic police officers, along with 2 Hydra cranes, rushed to the spot and rescued the injured driver who sustained head injuries and shifted him to the Civil Hospital. The toppled container was moved to the roadside, and the traffic movement was restored only after 2 hours, informed Yasin Tadvi, in charge at the Thane regional disaster management cell.
