Luka Doncic delivered a highlight-reel moment and a dominant performance as the Los Angeles Lakers ended their four-game losing streak with a 107-96 win over the Phoenix Suns. Amid LeBron James’ absence, Doncic took the responsibility, scoring 33 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and dishing out eight assists. Luka Doncic’s stunning move in the Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Lakers matchup went viral
The Los Angeles Lakers’ home-court advantage was evident as they snapped out of their losing streak against the high-octane matchup of the Phoenix Suns at the Crypto.com Arena.
Lakers standout Luka Doncic stole the spotlight as he surprised Suns veteran Kevin Durant in the action-packed match. The incident quickly went viral, propelling fans to acknowledge fearless Doncic’s standout moment in the game.
Doncic was aided by Austin Reaves, who added 28 points, while Jaxson Hayes, returning from a four-game injury absence, scored 19 points. “You can see the difference for me. It helps me a lot, but he helps the whole team,” Doncic said about Hayes’ return.
The Suns, on the other hand, struggled offensively, particularly from beyond the arc. Phoenix missed its first 10 three-point attempts and finished the game shooting just 22% (9-of-41) from deep. Devin Booker and Kevin Durant did their best to keep the Suns in the game, scoring 19 and 21 points, respectively, but without Bradley Beal, who exited with hamstring soreness after just 15 minutes, Phoenix couldn’t find enough firepower to overcome the Lakers’ lead.
Doncic and Reaves made sure that the Lakers maintained control, consistently answering every Suns run with clutch buckets.
Head coach JJ Redick praised his team’s gameplay coming out of a crushing loss to the Denver Nuggets just days prior. “We lost a crushing game on Friday night… It was disheartening. Our guys to come back [from the road trip] with an early start and be the harder playing team from the beginning; that, to me, says everything about our group,” Redick said.
The Lakers now hold the second-best home record (26-7) in the Western Conference, trailing only Cleveland and Oklahoma City in total home wins this season. Only 16 games left in the regular season, and they are looking to secure their playoff positioning.

Next up, the Lakers continue their five-game homestand with a matchup against the struggling San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs have dropped four of their last five games and will be without stars De’Aaron Fox and Victor Wembanyama, who are sidelined for the remainder of the season. The Lakers will look to capitalize on the opportunity to stack wins and continue their climb up the Western Conference standings.
