Jharkhand Launches State-Level Sports Competitions: Wushu, Taekwondo, and Swimming Events Under Khelo Jharkhand | Ranchi News
Ranchi : The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) inaugurated the state-level Wushu, Taekwondo, and Swimming competitions on Thursday as part of the Khelo Jharkhand initiative.The opening ceremony was held at Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium, where dignitaries jointly lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the commencement of the events. Competitions are being held at Thakur Vishwanath Shahdeo Indoor Stadium (Wushu), Ganpat Rai Indoor Stadium (Taekwondo), and Sidhu Kanhu Swimming Stadium (Swimming).Thousands of athletes from various districts participated in multiple sports including Wushu, Taekwondo, Swimming, Yoga, Boxing, Netball, Basketball, Weightlifting, and Mallakhamb. Chief Guest Madhukant Pathak, General Secretary, Jharkhand Olympic Association, encouraged players to maintain discipline and consistent practice, stating that “10,000 hours of training are essential to become a good Olympian.”Shivendu Dubey, Treasurer of Jharkhand Olympic Association, said, “The Education Department is fully committed to nurturing sports talent across the state.”
