Is Thailand’s ‘Area 51’ really a UFO hotspot? Vlogger reveals mysterious truth behind it

The existence of UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects) is one of the most debated and intriguing issues across the globe. For the people of Khao Kala, a Thai mountain area, the answer is ‘yes, at least once’. Most locals affirm they have seen these enigmatic flying objects at least once in their lifetime. The region, nicknamed Thailand’s “Area 51,” is a magnet for UFO enthusiasts where over the past few years, this enigma has drawn locals and tourists alike, with content creator Travis Leon Price, vlogger, posted his trip to unravel the mystery behind.
The controversy regarding UFOs and alien life is still afloat. Although the U.S. government keeps things under wraps in places such as Area 51, Khao Kala remains a magnet for those interested in the unknown. Whether it’s the sparkling lights in the night sky or the meditation techniques intended to speak to extraterrestrial life, Khao Kala is an interesting place for those who want to delve into the secrets of the universe.

UFO sightings and spiritual practices in Khao Kala

Khao Kala has attracted international media since it is linked to reports of UFO sightings. These experiences are so extensive that the mountain area is regarded as a location where UFOs are common sightings. Vlogger Price’s trip to the region, which was posted on a social media video, includes his encounter with a resident who claims that UFOs are seen nearly every day in the sky. During his investigation, Price was taken around the region, where he visited a UFO club and Buddhist statues. The statues are a central point for people who meditate in an attempt to contact extraterrestrial life.
He spoke to the villagers, documented the rare and unusual footage which further sparked curiosity among the people. At the conclusion of the video, Price accompanies the locals on a nighttime UFO-watching event. Throughout this event, he records footage of sparkling lights in the sky, which several people think might be UFOs.

Social media reactions to the Khao Kala UFO sightings

Price’s video created a buzz online, as most of the viewers commented on their UFO sightings and encounters. One observer posted, “I see the orbs too. I have a flight radar and follow satellite coordinates to make sure I’m seeing something unexplainable. The orbs may well be military UAVs or other secret craft, but for now, I refer to them as orbs.” Another user posted, “I have seen those myself. They resemble stars and go any which way, not very fast, but they obviously travel, and they are not airplanes.” Some social media users were so curious about the area that they asked to visit, posting, “Do you have a tour guide to bring the trip about, or do you just need to bring us up to the mountain to see?”

Khao Kala’s rising fame as a UFO Hotspot

As per reports, the rising popularity of Khao Kala as a hotspot for UFOs has increased by leaps and bounds which underscored the locality’s status. Believers say that in some instances, people have allegedly heard extraterrestrial voices during meditation on the mountain. Villagers warn that appearances of UFOs are volatile and there are no assurances that a visitor would sight an extraterrestrial event. In 2024, the area received even more international attention when it hosted Thailand’s first-ever UFO music festival. One of the attendees, Siwadon Chantanasewi, said he felt that the event had somehow drawn alien attention. Chantanasewi said he had a strong feeling that UFOs would show up, and later said he saw one. He said it was “a very large ship” that was “the brightest thing in the sky.”
Khao Kala is frequently drawn in comparison to Area 51 in the U.S. Khao Kala is open to the public, whereas Area 51 is a U.S. Air Force base in Nevada that is highly classified. The base has been surrounded by many extraterrestrial conspiracy theories, especially concerning reports of UFO and extraterrestrial technology. In 2013, the CIA finally confirmed the existence of Area 51, albeit with access strictly limited. The base is ringed by close security, including monitoring and a no-fly zone. Over the years, conspiracy theories have appeared that Area 51 is where alien spacecraft from the crash at the 1947 Roswell incident are stored or where advanced military planes are covertly engineered. In spite of numerous public calls for openness, the U.S. government has yet to offer any definitive proof of extraterrestrial life at Area 51.
