Instagram Reels gets AI dubbing in 5 Indian languages alongside new script fonts

Facebook-parent Meta has announced that content creators will now be able to use Meta AI to translate and dub Instagram and Facebook Reels in five additional Indian languages: Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi. This builds on the feature introduced in October, which initially supported English, Hindi, Spanish, and Portuguese. The AI-powered tool preserves the creator’s voice and tone during translation, while a lip-sync feature aligns translated audio with mouth movements to maintain natural visual presentation.Meta also unveiled new Indian fonts for Instagram edits, supporting Devanagari and Bengali-Assamese scripts. This allows creators to style text and captions in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and Assamese.

How it works:

* Open the editing timeline and select “Text” from the toolbar.* Tap the “Aa” icon to view available fonts.* Devices set to Devanagari or Bengali-Assamese scripts will display these fonts by default.* Other devices can filter fonts by language in the “All fonts” tab.
