MUMBAI: YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani arrived at the Maharashtra Cyber Cell office to comply with the official summons they have been sent in the derogatory program that was aired recorded in the India’s Got Latent case before it was removed after nationwide outrage.
The Cyber Cell probing the obscenity case filed against. Allahbadia and others concerning alleged inappropriate comments made during a YouTube programme.
A police officer of the Cyber Cell confirmed that Allahbadia and Chanchlani has recorded their statements on Monday in the case that was registered against them and few others. In all, statements of four people has been recorded so far.
The Cyber Cell summoned Allahbadia on Feb 17 for questioning on Feb 24 regarding his controversial statement about watching parents on Samay Raina’s show. The comment sparked nationwide outrage and social media criticism, including condemnation from the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has additionally summoned Allahbadia, Sharan Raina, and Apoorva Mukhija regarding offensive comments in a subsequently removed video. The revised summons requires Allahbadia and Mukhija to appear on March 6, whilst Raina must present himself on March 11.
Despite Allahbadia releasing a video apology on social media platforms, the situation escalated with numerous police complaints being registered nationwide against him.

‘India’s Got Latent’ became controversial following podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia’s guest appearance.
Allahbadia’s question to a contestant, asking, “Would you rather watch your parents… or join in once and stop it forever?” sparked widespread outrage, leading to a formal complaint being filed against Allahbadia, Raina, comedian Apoorva Makhija, and the show’s organisers.
On February 18, the Supreme Court weighed in on the matter, strongly condemning Allahbadia’s remarks. Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh described the comments as “dirty and perverted,” adding that such behaviour must be unequivocally condemned.
The episodes of ‘India’s Got Latent’ have been removed by host, Samay Raina.
