Hyderabad bomb scare: City Civil Court receives threat email; claims four RDX-based IEDs planted

HYDERABAD: Unknown offenders on Tuesday sent an email to the Chief Judge of the City Civil Courts Complex in Hyderabad, claiming that IEDs had been planted in the complex. Following the email, the court premises were evacuated, and a bomb disposal squad conducted thorough checks. At 3.43 am, an individual using the name Abdia Abdulla emailed the Chief Judge of the Hyderabad Civil Courts Complex and the Hyderabad Gymkhana Club, stating that four RDX-based IEDs had been placed at both the court premises and the club. The email also instructed judges and staff to evacuate the buildings. According to the sender, who claimed to be a student or alumnus of Anna University, the purpose of the bomb threat was to expose alleged illegal activities of certain top political leaders in Tamil Nadu. Alerted by court staff around 11.30am, Mirchowk police, along with two bomb disposal teams, reached the complex and began anti-sabotage checks after evacuating the buildings. The search is still ongoing, and no explosive materials have been found so far, said Mirchowk Inspector Rachakonda Ravinder.
