The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has officially released the timetable for the 2026 board examinations for Classes 10 and 12. According to the schedule, both SSC and HSC exams will commence on February 26, 2026, and continue until March 16, 2026. The announcement gives students ample time to prepare, as the registration window remains open until December 6, 2025. GSEB 2026 exam dates and timings

The Class 10 (SSC) examinations will be held in the morning session from 10:00 am to 1:15 pm, while Class 12 (HSC) examinations for both science and general streams will take place in the afternoon session from 3:00 pm to 6:15 pm.The exams will run for nearly three weeks, covering core subjects, electives, and vocational papers.

Structure of Gujarat Board HSC examination

As per the GSEB notification, the Class 12 examination pattern includes two sections:

  • Part A: 50 multiple-choice questions (1 mark each)
  • Part B: Descriptive or long-answer questions (totaling 50 marks)

This format ensures a balanced evaluation of conceptual understanding and analytical writing skills. The Science stream students will follow the same pattern for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, while Commerce and Arts streams will have respective paper structures.

Registration and fee details

GSEB has instructed schools to complete registration and fee payments by December 6, 2025. Students should confirm their details, including subject combinations, before submission to avoid later discrepancies. Admit cards will be issued in February 2026 after verification by schools.
