Goa swelters despite light rainfall

Panaji: Goa experienced an unusually sultry Thursday, as light to moderate rainfall offered little relief from the stifling heat and humidity. Although the maximum temperature recorded was 32°C, the “feels like” temperature reached 41.5°C, causing considerable discomfort. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported light to moderate showers across most areas on Thursday, but humidity levels remained oppressive. Over the next 24 hours, the IMD has forecast intermittent spells of rain with maximum and minimum temperatures around 31°C and 25°C, respectively. This mix of moderate rainfall and high humidity is likely to continue across North and South Goa districts till July 12, with heavier showers likely to return soon.
