13 Goa govt dept websites set for digital upgrade after gap analysis

Panaji: Goa Electronics Limited (GEL) has launched a digital revamp for 13 state govt department websites following a comprehensive gap analysis of over 400 portals. The study evaluated the digital readiness and performance of these sites to identify which departments need complete redevelopment or technical upgrades.Based on the findings, GEL noted that some departments are operating outdated websites, while others have no online presence at all and require completely new portals. Some departments only need their existing websites to be maintained. Seven departments, including the Goa rehabilitation board, directorate of technical education, department of information technology, electronics and communications, and Goa Konkani akademi, will receive new websites. Six others have sought maintenance and upgrades to their existing portals.The new websites will include enhanced security standards and will receive three years of maintenance. They will also feature fresh layouts, improved design concepts, and interactive tools for easier access to public information. Officials said the initiative aims to create a uniform, citizen-friendly, ecosystem.
