Guwahati: Gaurav committed to advancing Zubeen’s vision of a “Bor Asom” — a greater, inclusive Assam where equality prevails across caste, creed, and religion. The APCC emphasized that Gaurav’s pledge underscores the party’s commitment to preserving Assam’s cultural heritage, fostering social harmony, and promoting the inclusive ideals cherished by Garg.In a video message, Gaurav, who also serves as the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, reaffirmed his dedication to peace, unity, and cultural integrity. “From today, I will be the watchman of Assamese nationality. Peace and harmony will be the foundation of my Bor Asom (Greater Assam). I will be humanitarian, and I will show equal respect to each caste, creed, and religion. I will oppose the casteist and communal forces spreading fear, hatred, and division in society. I will raise my voice without fear on any issue concerning the interests of Assam. I will protect the trees, hills, rivers, and wildlife of Assam,” Gaurav said.He also pledged to support the deprived and underprivileged, presenting Assamese nationality as an example of ‘unity in diversity’ to the world. “Zoi Zubeen da,” he concluded.
