Alberto El Patron, previously known for his time in WWE as Alberto Del Rio, was one of the most popular wrestlers in the company during his time. The professional Mexican wrestler was associated with WWE from 2008 to 2016. However, the former WWE wrestler has been making headlines for his actions at a recent AAA match held in Mexico.
Alberto has reportedly faced a wrestling ban following an incident that took place at a Lucha Libre AAA show in Tijuana, Mexico. The suspension came shortly after the wrestler attacked one of the spectators in the crowd who was present there to witness the event.
The mega AAA champion will be now debarred from playing his bout for the subsequent months. Let’s look into the details regarding the ban more—
Alberto Del Rio faces ban after attacking spectator in Mexico
Former WWE wrestler Alberto Del Rio has reportedly faced a six-month-long wrestling suspension. However, the ban will prevent Alberto, from performing in the city of Tijuana only and will not affect any other events.
The actual incident occurred on March 14, when Patron was in action against El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. According to reports, El Patron who was playing his bout sensed some disturbance when fans tried throwing coins and beer at him.
Following this, El Patron confronted fans after the match and eventually made his way into the crowd and threw a chair out of rage which accidentally hit a woman in the face. The woman sustained injuries and was later taken to hospital.
Fans have shared the footage on “X” from the event, where the former WWE Champion could be seen hopping the guardrail but is unable to get over. El Patron then makes his way to the crowd and throws the chair before he is struck by another chair and other projectiles before making his way back to the ringside area.
As per reports, El Patron’s ban is specific to the city and it is expected that the upcoming AAA events scheduled in Ensenada and Rosarito, Baja California, should not be affected. It is also added that if AAA decides to host a Triplemania show in the same city before September, the Mexican wrestler will be banned from competing at the event.

This is not the first time the former WWE star has faced any suspension. Previously, in WWE, Alberto had to face a wrestling ban for violating WWE norms. On 18 August 2016, Alberto El Patron faced a suspension for thirty days for his first violation of WWE’s wellness policy.
