Dick Jauron, AKA Richard Manual Jauron, had an extensive coaching career. But before becoming a coach, he played for the Detroit Lions from 1973 to 1977 and the Cincinnati Bengals from 1978 to 1980 as a safety.
The Yale University alumnus was drafted by the NFL in 1973 in the fourth round with an overall pick no. 91. Dick Jauron entered the coaching realm in the year 1985. Jauron began as a defensive backs coach for the Buffalo Bills in 1985 and later went on to become a DB coach for the Green Bay Packers between 1986 and 1994.

He stayed with the Bears till 2003. In the 2003 NFL season, the Bears finished with only 4 wins and 12 losses under his coaching. It resulted in parting ways with the Bears.

The Philadelphia Eagles had Dick Jauron as their defensive backs coach in 2010. The Cleveland Browns were the last ones to have the AP Coach of the Year, Dick Jauron. He was with the Browns from 2011 to 2012.
