Farmer leader Pappu Singh, his son and brother shot dead in Uttar Pradesh | Lucknow News

FATEHPUR: A Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader, along with his son and brother, was shot dead on Tuesday in Uttar Pradesh’s Akhri village following an altercation over his tractor obstructing the road, a police official said.
The deceased were identified as Bhartiya Kisan Union district president Pappu Singh (50), his son Abhay Singh (22) and younger brother Pinku Singh (45).
According to inspector general of police Prem Kumar Gautam, a dispute erupted after former village head Suresh Kumar alias Munnu requested Pappu Singh to relocate his tractor parked on the road to allow passage for his motorcycle.
The situation escalated violently when Suresh Kumar’s sons and his associates intervened in the confrontation and commenced indiscriminate firing, culminating in the triple homicides.
IG Gautam said he would visit the location to assess the situation.
Another police officer stated Suresh Kumar and his sons, with whom the victim had a longstanding political rivalry, have been apprehended.
