Reportedly, Phillips experienced severe discomfort in his right forearm during the recent clash against the Miami Marlins during the early innings of the game.

During the ongoing MLB season, it is quite evident that the Los Angeles Dodgers are plagued with repeated pitching issues. Recently, the Dodgers suffered another setback after the sudden exit of the right-handed pitching star Evans Phillips due to forearm discomfort. Reportedly, during the first inning of the game against the Miami Marlins, Dodgers’ RHP experienced discomfort in his forearm. He was shifted to the injured list for the next 15 days in the middle of the ongoing MLB season. According to the latest update on Phillips’ forearm issue, he reported soreness too. During a post-game interview after marking their phenomenal victory against the Miami Marlins, Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts reacted to Evan Phillips’ situation. He said, “Could he have pitched today? Absolutely! I just don’t know—no one knows how he would respond going forward, so for us, it just made the most sense to IL him. Our expectation is that on that 16th day, he’ll be back out there.”
Phillips even spoke about his current condition during an interview. The Dodgers’ RHP focused more on being a little extra cautious instead of neglecting the health concerns. He said, “I do feel like I can still contribute, but I think what it comes down to is you don’t want to mess around with something, and you’re in May, so we don’t really have the luxury of giving me a couple of days off here to figure it out. So we decided it was best to just be cautious with it.”Evans Phillips went on to join the long list of Dodgers’ injured pitchers during the 2025 MLB season, which includes Clayton Kershaw, Blake Snell, and Tyler Glasnow, who made headlines due to his elbow injury. The Dodgers’ popular designated hitter Shohei Ohtani is still recovering from his elbow injury, for which he had to undergo Tommy John surgery back in 2023.
