Decomposed body of Karnataka farmer found in TN forest | Coimbatore News
KRISHNAGIRI: The decomposed body of a Karnataka farmer was found in the Soodachandram forest area in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. Forest officials said Sasikumar, 31, of Bhimekaundan Thotti in Ram Nagar district of Karnataka died after being attacked by a wild elephant on Jan 15.On Wednesday, forest department personnel found the body and informed the Thally police. Police recovered the body, conducted an investigation and identified the deceased as Sasikumar, who had been missing since Jan 15. The body was sent to the Krishnagiri Government Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.Sasikumar came to the Shankarappa temple in Thalidevara Petta village near Hosur on Jan 14 for darshan. “He stayed at the temple at night and left for home on the following morning,” said a police official.When Sasikumar’s father, Bhimegaudu, contacted him on his cell phone, he told him that he was in the forest and could not come home as planned. Later, his cell phone number was not reachable. Bhimegaudu filed a complaint with the Aravalli police in Karnataka on Jan 16. Police registered a missing person case.
