Culvert repair begins on Pernem road | Goa News
Mapusa: PWD has started repairing the culvert on the major district road (MDR) 17 at Kotkarwada, Pernem, on Saturday.The culvert on the main road has been damaged, and its side walls have collapsed, exposing the corrosion within. Locals have complained about cracks and structural weakness, demanding its reconstruction.The road connects Pernem town and the villages of Korgao, Arambol, Paliem, and Keri, with no alternative route. PWD had closed the Pernem–Korgao road from 8am to 5pm on Saturday for urgent reconstruction of a collapsed cross drain at Kotkarwada.This road, the only main link to the town, carries heavy traffic, including vehicles travelling from Mopa airport to Pernem’s coastal villages.
