CRPF CoBRA jawan injured in IED blast in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur | Raipur News

NEW DELHI: A personnel of the CRPF’s elite CoBRA unit was injured after an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Maoists exploded in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, police said on Saturday.
The blast took place on Friday evening when a team from the 202nd battalion of CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) was conducting an area domination operation from its Nambi camp, an official said.
As the team was cordoning off the forest, constable Arun Kumar Yadav accidentally stepped on an IED, triggering the explosion. He was given preliminary treatment and later airlifted to Raipur, where he is reported to be out of danger.

- February 4: Two security personnel sustained injuries in a similar explosion in Bijapur.
- January 17: Two BSF personnel were injured in an IED attack in Narayanpur.
- January 16: Two CoBRA commandos were injured in a blast in Bijapur.
- January 12: A 10-year-old girl was injured in Sukma, while two policemen were hurt in Bijapur.
- January 10: A villager was killed, and three others were injured in two separate IED explosions in Narayanpur’s Orchha area.
