Coimbatore gets four-storey science and tech museum | Coimbatore News

COIMBATORE: From basic science to rocket science and from automobiles to virtual reality, students, science enthusiasts and tech lovers can have hands-on experience on various concepts and subjects in a four-storey museum that was inaugurated on the PSG iTech campus in Neelambur here on Thursday.
Built at an estimate of Rs 36 crore in the first phase, the PSG GRD Museum of Science & Technology has dedicated space for various concepts.
The ground floor features energy and mobility. This includes automobiles. Automobile parts and their functions are displayed here. Modules of thermal, solar, wind, nuclear and hydropower plants are also displayed here.
The first floor has been dedicated to educating school children about basic science covering plant cells, parts of the eye, pendulums, anatomy of a tree and many others.
Space and astronomy gallery features models of rockets, satellites and celestial bodies along with an augmented reality space experience.
Robotics and AI lab displays intelligent automation, machine learning models and humanoid robots to inspire future engineers.
The virtual reality section offers immersive simulations such as deep-sea dives, time travel explorations and space missions that bridge the gap between imagination and reality.

Roshni Nadar Malhotra, chairperson of HCLTech, inaugurated the museum. C Vijayakumar, CEO & MD of HCLTech and L Gopalakrishnan, managing trustee of PSG & Sons’ Charities, were present.
