‘Aur lado aapas mein’: Omar Abdullah takes dig at Rahul, Kejriwal as BJP takes lead in Delhi elections | India News

NEW DELHI: Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday took digs at INDIA bloc partners AAP and Congress, who contested the Delhi elections as rivals, after trends showed BJP making massive capital gains. The BJP is all set to return to power in Delhi after a gap of 27 years.
“Aur lado aapas mein (fight more), ” Omar said reacting to trends which showed BJP taking leads in Delhi assembly elections.AAP and Congress had contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as allies. However, they contested the assembly elections as rivals and led a very bitter campaign against each other.
Rahul Gandhi led the charge against AAP and made relentless attacks on Arvind Kejriwal targeting over corruption allegations. Kejriwal also returned fire and attacked Rahul over the National Herald case. The fight between the two key allies also divided the other INDIA bloc partners. Samajwadi Party came out openly in support of AAP as Akhilesh Yadav campaigned for Kejriwal. Mamata Banerjee and Sharad Pawar also backed Kejriwal but did not campaign on ground. However, Uddhav Thackery’s Shiv Sena (UBT) stayed neutral.
Omar Abdullah had earlier warned that the INDIA bloc should hold a meeting to decide the future course of action for the opposition coalition.
