Attack on MP’s house: 2 FIRs against ‘hundreds of Karni Sena men’ for ‘attempt to murder, rioting’ | Agra News

Agra: A day after Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Lal Suman‘s Agra residence was vandalised over his remarks on Rajput ruler Rana Sanga, two FIRs were registered against “hundreds of Karni Sena workers” under BNS sections of “attempt to murder” and “rioting” on Thursday.
Agra DCP Sonam Kumar told TOI: “Two FIRs have been filed. We are identifying the accused involved in the violence. Teams are also raiding places. People who were detained were released after verification. We checked the videos and found that they were not involved in the violence. Further investigations are on. No arrest has been made so far.”
The first FIR was filed after a complaint by Samajwadi Party leader Ramji Lal’s son, Ranjit, who alleged that around 2pm on Wednesday, “an uncontrolled mob attacked their residence, aiming to inflict life-threatening injuries”. He also alleged that “the mob attacked my house and vandalised the cars parked outside. My wallet, cash and other valuables kept in my car were also looted by the mob.”
This FIR was lodged under BNS sections 109 (2) (attempt to murder), 191 (2) (rioting), 351 (3) (vandalism), 309 (robbery), 333 (house trespass), among others, against “hundreds of Karni Sena workers”.
The second FIR was filed by sub-inspector Dinesh Kumar Singh under BNS sections 324 (4) (mischief causing loss or damage between Rs 20,000 and Rs 100,000), 115 (2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 223 (disobeying orders given by a public servant).
On Wednesday, footage purportedly emerged of protesters waving saffron flags, shouting slogans and breaking through barriers to reach Suman’s house. Although they brought a bulldozer, police intercepted it before it could reach the residence.
The large group damaged several vehicles and clashed with police, leaving at least 15 personnel injured, including inspector Alok Kumar Singh, who received about seven stitches following an injury to his hand. Another officer also suffered a head wound.
Around 30 Karni Sena workers were detained by Agra police and later released on Wednesday night.
