ACL2: Al-Nassr officials in Goa on inspection visit | Goa News

Panaji: Two officials from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr FC arrived in Goa on Thursday to check the state’s facilities, ahead of the AFC Champions League Two clash against FC Goa next week.Al-Nassr FC are captained by five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo and, quite expectedly, there’s a huge buzz around the game. However, there is no confirmation yet about the Portugal superstar’s visit to Goa for the ACL 2 clash on Oct 22.“The logistics officer and first team operations head are both in Goa to inspect facilities,” a source told TOI on Thursday. “They will check the state’s preparedness and report back to their club. There are important meetings lined up on Friday before their departure later in the night.”The two Al-Nassr officials checked the shortlisted hotels in South Goa and visited the Nehru Stadium in Fatorda. On Friday, the officials will meet sports minister Ramesh Tawadkar at the Secretariat and later hold talks with the airport director to ensure there are no hassles when they land here next week. The Saudi Pro League giants have several stars like Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Joao Felix (Chelsea), Inigo Martinez (Barcelona) and Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich) but nobody comes close to matching the pull of Ronaldo, winner of five Ballon d’Or awards, five Champions Leagues and the European Championship. In the four-team group, FC Goa are at the bottom with no goals and no point after two matches. Al-Nassr are on top with an all-win record, while Al Zawraa and FC Istiklol both have three points each, after their wins against Goa.
