5 dead, several injured as dumper truck hits van in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind | Bhopal News

BHIND: Five people were killed, and eight others sustained injuries when a speeding dumper rammed into a parked loading vehicle near Jawaharpura village in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district.
The accident took place around 5am on Tuesday on National Highway 719. The victims were returning to Bhawanipura village after attending a wedding in Jawaharpura.
Several individuals were inside the van, while others stood on the road when a fast-moving dumper truck collided with them and their vehicle.
Three people died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries later, according to Bhind district superintendent of police (SP) Asit Yadav.
The survivors were transported to the district hospital for treatment, he stated.
Following the incident, enraged villagers congregated and obstructed the highway, vociferously raising slogans against the Bhind collector, superintendent of police, and MP Sandhya Rai, demanding swift and decisive action. The agitated demonstrators maintained their resolute stance while disrupting vehicular movement.
Police personnel swiftly arrived at the scene and endeavoured to defuse the volatile situation by engaging in dialogue with the protestors, attempting to restore order and normalcy to the affected area.
Speeding mini-truck kills woman in Bilkhiria
A speeding mini-truck allegedly collided with a bike-riding couple while attempting to overtake them on Raisen Road in Bilkhiria on Sunday. The impact caused severe head injuries to a 25-year-old woman, leading to her death, while her husband and their two children sustained minor injuries.
Bilkhiria police have registered a case against the unidentified truck driver and launched efforts to trace both the vehicle and its driver.
According to Bilkhiria SHO Umesh Chouhan, the deceased, Diksha Mehra (25), was the wife of Dharmendra Mehra and a native of Silwani in Raisen district. She lived with her husband and their two children, aged 4 and 3, in the Bilkhiria area. Dharmendra works as a watchman in Kanhasaiya.
