3 UP men’s Panaji burglary spree ends with arrest

Panaji: Police have nabbed the three burglars from Uttar Pradesh who had broken into multiple shops in Panaji.
“The intel of the Panaji beat staff was so good that the accused were traced to the bus in which they were escaping,” North Goa SP Akshat Kaushal said. “And with the help of Kolhapur police, they were brought down and arrested.”
On April 9, Mayank Madiar’s complaint stated that at the ‘W for Woman’ store at Ribeiro Building, Panaji, the accused bent the shutters, broke the toughened glass, and entered the shop, committing a theft of Rs 11,000.
On April 10, Rahim Virani of ‘Mansur Enterprise’, near Cafe Tato’s, reported that the accused employed the same modus operandi and stole Rs 1.5 lakh from the shop.
Another complainant, Prayot Vaigankar of ‘Aaradhya Wine Stores’, near Old Secretariat, Panaji, said the three accused entered his shop by bending the shutter and stole Rs 3,470 in cash and one mobile phone worth Rs 10,000.
A theft of Rs 5,000 also occurred at ‘Casa Barreto’, near Panaji Municipal Garden.
Panaji town police station, through its sources and intelligence, collected information via Smart City CCTV footage and apprehended the accused: Mustakeen Dasna, Mohammad Hamed Musahid alias Gabaru, and Mohammad Chote. The team was led by Panaji PI Vijaykumar Chodankar.
