10 arrested as Karnataka police seize illegal country pistols | Hubballi News
The police action came based on the revelations made by one of the accused in the Satish Rathod murder case during interrogation.
Vijayapura Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi told TOI on Tuesday that Sagar alias Suresh Rathod who was an accused in the Satish Rathod murder case had revealed that he had supplied country made pistols to Ramesh Gemu Lamani, the main accused in the Satish Rathod murder case. He had also revealed that he had supplied country pistols to some others also.
Based on this revelation, police teams raided the houses of those who had obtained country pistols from Sagar in Vijayapura Rural, Jal Nagar, Sindagi, Basavana Bagewadi, Adarsh Nagar and Tikota Police station limits and seized 10 country-made pistols and 24 live bullets.
Police also arrested Prakash Marki Rathod, resident of Hanchinala Tanda, Ashok Paramu Pandre of Karada Doddi, Arakeri, Sujit Subhas Rathod of Kadaki Tanda, Tulzapur in Maharashtra, Sukhadev alias Sukhi Narasu Rathod of Sai Park, Vijayapura, Prakash Bhimsingh Rathod of Nagavi Tanda in Sindagi, Ganesh Shivaram Shetty of Basavana Bagewadi, Channappa Mallappa Naganur of Noolvi in Dharwad district, Santosh Kishan Rathod of Lohagaon Tanda in Tikota, Janardhan Vasant Pawar of Aitawade village in Sangli district, Maharashtra and Sagar alias Suresh Rathod of Hanchinal Tanda in Vijayapura.
Satish Premsingh Rathod had been murdered on January 28, 2025 at 10.30am at Arakeri Tanda by Ramesh Gemu Lamani and others. Satish had sought to marry Ramesh’s daughter for which Ramesh was not agreeable. Ramesh’s daughter committed suicide. Ramesh had held Satish responsible for his daughter’s death and had vowed to avenge it. On January 28, Ramesh along with five others had assaulted Satish with sharp weapons and shot him in the chest killing him instantly. Police had arrested six persons including Sagar Rathod in connection with the case.
SP Nimbargi hailed the members of police teams headed by additional SPs Shankar Marihal, Ramanagouda Hatti, DySP Girimalla Talakatti, Basavaraj Yaligar, Jagadish H S and Balappa Nandagavi for the successful operation.
